My wife has been suffering from skin allergy since last 6 months. Swelling and itching on her skin all over her body only during night time. We have tried many medicines, change our lifestyle - fooding, clothing, bedding, living etc, but nothing help. We could not identify an allergen, please help. She is breast-feeding a 6monts old baby girl.
Skin allergy, Allergen could not be found till now?
It sounds like a real mystery!

I was wondering if you have seen an allergist and taken allergy tests. Or even a dermatologist.

Reply:Allergy testing can be done while breastfeeding,it's a simple scratch test and bloodwork if needed. Perhaps the close exposure to the sheets triggers an allergy. has she tried dye/fragerance free laundry detergent? She may also be allergic to dust mites,very few people get rashes-she may be one of them. To reduce the reaction from the mites,cover the mattress and pillows in allergen reducer covers. Wash all bedding in hot water. Good luck.
