Why do you think my dog has a skin allergy?is it because of the food, shelter, or smthing...Ü?

i am tired of curing my dog's skin..everyday..i put medicine..anti allergy..etc. but..for me..nothing is happening..is it also because of he is changing his skin(because he is only 5 months old)..thanks..

Why do you think my dog has a skin allergy?is it because of the food, shelter, or smthing...Ü?
feed your dog an all natural diet such as INNOVA. about $40 per 33pounds. Dogs are sometimes allergic to that crap they make cheap dog food out of. You will save money in the long run on medicine and vet bills, trust me, we learned the hard way!
Reply:shelter
Reply:Are you feeding a lamb and Rice formula puppy food? Skin allergies can be from grasses, carpet cleaners, or fleas(just one bite) But the most common skin allergies are food related. If you are not currently feeding lamb and rice, check at your local pet supply and ask for a hypo-allergenic puppy kibble.

Solid Gold makes a great one, as do many other premium brands. the culprits are usually corn, wheat, soy, beet pulp, preservatives, and food coloring. The very best kibbles are made with human grade ingredients. they are well worth the cost, as they produce a much healthier pet.
Reply:if you do bathe your dog, try to use gentle soap and be sure that you do rinse it all off or it can cause itching %26amp; redness.

Good Luck!

Reply:Your dog is changing his skin? Is it part reptile?
Reply:take him to a vet they will help. it could be parvo or it could be allergies. my dog is aqllergic to red dye. its a simple test and it doesnt hurt the dog.
Reply:i have a yellow lab that has skin allergies. he has to go to my vet about 2-3 times a year to get a shot. (he stays with my parents) my parents use this special shampoo to help keep his skin moisten. even giving your dog a bath once a week will drain the oil from it's skin causing the dog to scratch and have hot spots. my yellow lab takes these big yellow pills (2 gel cap twice a day) to help build up his immune system. every now and then the vet gives him some other medicine for his allergies. maybe watch his diet, because they can be allergic to certain foods. maybe go under search on the internet for skin allergies and see if you can find more out there.

*****they're are a lot of things that can cause allergies or even skin problems to dogs. just like humans. i would talk to my vet to see about having an allergy test taken or try to narrow it down. the vet would have more answers.
Reply:There ae many possibilities of why your dog has skin problems, one depends on where you live. If you live where it is cold and your dog stays inside, maybe the heater is drying his skin out. maybe he has allergies to food or pollen. If he is only 5 months be careful what you try, take him to a groomer they might have some ideas for you.

I found a shampoo called Milk Bath that works really good on my dog. He has "dandruff" really bad, and this stuff worked wonders, plus it smells good.
Reply:It could be anything in its food, my old dog had awful skin problems, all because it was allergic to Wheat, so we had to change its whole deit around, it could be something like that
Reply:yo, bro. you gotta go to some dog doctors.
Reply:Try a bath then medican.
Reply:Here are a few pointers that you can do:

a) Try changing ur dog food to holistic rice and lamb. It would help. Also try to add in fish oil (either liquid or tablet). It will improve the layers in the skin.

b) Try to clean the place he sleeps daily and put a clear big plastic sheet on the place where he sleeps. This will reduce skin irratation.

c) Try to use medicated shampoo for dogs. There's a brand call malasab(i think it's the correct name) It's proven effective to skin problem.

If all the above is not working for your dog, then you must go to the vet. The vet will give ur dog injection and medication. But it's not cheap.
Reply:my grandmother's dog is going through the same thing and this has worked for her:

bathe the dog with head %26amp; shoulders shampoo and give the dog little scraps of egg. so if you eat eggs for breakfast, just give a little bit to the dog. eggs really help the condition of the dog's coat and skin.
Reply:my dog has a skin allergy as well and he lost some of his hair. i started putting skin so soft bath oil from avon in his water when i give him a bath and all his hair is back. I hope i helped.
Reply:most common cause of skin allergies is food. make sure ur feeling him a high quality food with no grains or by-products. a well known good food is Natural Balance. They specialize in making allergy dog foods. they have a line of kibble, treats and sausages for dogs
