Do I really have to wait 48 hours for a skin allergy test when dying my hair?

Wouldn't an Allergy materialize a lot sooner-say within 12 hours? When dying my hair at a salon the stylist doesn't do allergy tests-not even for a minute-so why do we have to do them at home?

In the UK salond have to do a skin test by law. It is not only to prevent unwanted reactions but also the client sueing the salon.

Of course you dont HAVE to to the skin test and if you colour your hair regulary then you may choose to skip it. but then if you do have a reaction then you only have yourself to blame.

Hair colours have some hectic chemicals in them thats why they are loaded with perfume - because they smell so bad.

If you have any doubts do the test just to be sure.
Reply:you dont. ive dyed my heair at home, and it turned out just fabulous, dont even bother doiung it.
Reply:I never have
Reply:not unless you have sensitive skin - but i never do ♥
Reply:If you have had your hair dyed and had no bad reaction then you are probably fine...they are covering their butts just in case you are allergic, so you can't sue them.

I am a professional colorist, and I never do a patch test..I carry 2 million dollars of malpractice insurance though..just in case

Put some of the color on your wrist and if it itches or burns or turns red. wait to color the rest of your hair.
