Skin allergy to Pug but not other dogs??

I have been and am around many dogs put only after holding or touching a pug do i get itchy skin and bumps. Is this a normal issue with only pugs? is it the type of food my pug is eating? PLEASE HELP!!!

i would guess that this is specific to your dog. there is probably something in his environment (possibly food), dog bed, carpeting, that is getting on his coat and irritating your skin. wash him well with a brush and see if you have the same reaction.

Reply:It could be the dog's dandruff because my mom is allergy to dog and the doctor told her it was the dandruff from the dogs
Reply:It is very possible. If he's eating a low-quality food like Purina or Alpo, they tend to cause skin problems. You can switch him over to Avoderm, which is much better quality and really good for the skin and coat since it has oatmeal and avocado skins. After a few weeks he should be looking much better.


You might also take him to the vet, just to make sure he doesn't have something worse, or a flea infestation.
