Itchy ears, dry skin on face allergy?

started getting daily headaches 5yrs ago. itchy ears started sametime as headaches. left ear inside itches so bad wakes me up. the more i scratch, the more it itches. i can't help but scatch the inside. have dry skin in creases around nose and bad dandruff. allergic to dust, cat and ragweed and cows milk, i've covered bed and pillows with allergen procter, but no relief. every cream try doesn't work. seeing ENT and ALLERGIST but not for months. can itchy ears be allergy to dust? what can i do? want to rip off ears and head for headaches.

Itchy ears, dry skin on face allergy?
here are some tips I found but then you have to remember our body has only a small handful of symtoms yet thousands of illinesses.

an allergic reaction to your blood pressure medicine is a possibility. Some people have seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) of the ear canals or psoriasis, another itchy skin disorder.

Acetic acid and cortisone are both standard treatments for itchy ears. You might try Cortisporin-Otic eardrops that are a combination anti-bacterial and steroid. Or you could use a stronger prescription steroid, like triamcinolone, to get relief.

Causes of itchy ears:

Ear canal skin is very sensitive. The slightest accumulation of debris, even a dead hair, may be felt as an itching sensation. We will next discuss the most common causes of itchy ears.

Dry ears are itchy:

A normal ear has a thin layer of natural body oil. Some ears produce no ear wax which results in dry and itchy ear skin. Sometimes people compulsively clean their ears and dry them out by removing the natural wax. Dry ears tend to accumulate flakes of dry dead skin.

For people who just lack ear wax, occasional insertion of a few drops of vegetable oil can be helpful. For people who compulsively clean out their ears, we advise scheduled appointments for ear cleaning, usually every 6 months, and avoidance of use of 'q' tips, or similar instruments in between.

with your other problems you do sound like you suff from many types of allergys. Bad thing about allergys is it takes along time to find the exact case, and could be a combination of reactions. With all the flaking in other areas sounds like a form of exema, which there are many types in different areas.

good luck I am sure this is driving you crazy

Reply:Im so glad you had asked this question. I have allergies as well and my ears itch all the time. Some years ago my eyes always itched so I guess I grew out of that and it moved on to my ears. I feel for you.
