You can give benedryl to dogs. I have a dog who has skin allergies and instead of using the oral steroids we have a cream that has them in it and we just put the cream on the affected area. But if your dog is hairy or has problems all over hos body this would not work for you.
Reply:we have a very allergic bulldog and we had him tested for allergies and he now gets monthly shots b/c we did not want him on steroids. the shots are working well with the occasional day when he get a pill of benedryl(doc approved)
Reply:I have a French Bulldog with severe allergies had her tested nothing environmental food related try switching food to a hypoallergenic actually hydrolyzed proteins plus benadryl is safe dose is 1mg per pound
Reply:Benadril can be given to dogs at 1/2 tsp per dogs body weight per pound
